Tiny and nestled between two rugged San Juan Mountain passes, Red Mountain and Molas, Silverton has been a beloved destination since its mining days, especially those pursuing new heights outdoors, backcountry camping and hiking, fishing and much more.
Why Silverton?
Because it hosts the Hardrock 100, the air is clear, and only one road is paved.
The Bent Elbow
The original Bent Elbow was built in 1907 and opened as Fattor's Tremount Saloon. It was home to a bordello upstairs with fourteen beds and was owned by Celeste and Matilda "Big Tillie" Fattor. Numerous owners followed Big Tillie.
